A law proposal aimed at "extracting France from the trap of drug trafficking" will be debated at the National Assembly starting March 17th. The proposal, supported by Éric Pauget (LR), Vincent Caure (Renaissance) and Roger Vicot (PS), had already been voted almost unanimously by the Senate last month and has been stripped of several flagship but controversial measures. The Minister of Justice, Gérald Darmanin, and the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, intend to reinstate some of these measures, including the algorithmic surveillance of Internet traffic.
